Children of Balochistan in Peril!

Balochistan news

Kashmir Watch, By Asad Khan Betini

Balochistan is suffering from Terrorists attacks and target killing, the daily carnage in the province has put all the children of Balochistan in post syndrome and bad psychological impact is being set on the children life.

On the other hand the children of the inner districts including capital Quetta are rapidly falling into epidemic diseases like Measles, Typhoid, Malaria, and other fatal diseases and as many as 20 children have been reported dead in far flung areas and these are not in the hospital record but the provincial government seems inactive to direct the concern department to adopt preventive measures in this respect and save the lives. It is fact that children are the future of any nation, if children were persecuted in such fatal diseases it means the future is in peril.

The sources informed that One case of HIV / AIDs in Killi Jan Abad area of district Zhob was detected during laboratory test in the Blood Bank of Zhob, but doctors of the Civil hospital Zhob despite keeping him separate from others, didn’t inform the higher authorities neither they took any preventive measures in this regard nor they alerted the patient. As the patient simply went home, the whole family including his wife was infected from HIV/AIDs virus, the infected patient is freely roaming in bazaar and there was no body to halt him yet.

The people of the area tried to contact DCO Zhob Mansoor Kakar but he didn’t allow the people to meet him in this regard. It is learnt that he used to be in meeting daily and no body dares to disturb him. When I tried to contact himself from the news desk the personnel Assistant Shah Muhammad told that he is in meeting and we have been directed not to disturb him even if it was Chief Minister’s phone call, the DCO refused to attend the phone call of this journalist, and he further directed his Personnel Assistant to deal by any means.

Meanwhile 12 children have been reported died from Measles diseases this week the sources told me that four children of a person “Haji Fateh Khan” were died of measles in Killi Hadezai Babar dated 5/1/2010 in district Sherani Area of Balochistan, while three years old child was died of measles in Killi Sandey Babar on 15/1/2010 his father Maula Dad told, in another case four years old child was sentenced to death from measles in Killi Usman Zai Village, his father Syed Noor told Me, two years old girl died of measles in killi Sandey Babar while many persons and children are becoming the victim of Hepatitis diseases I learnt in the first survey of the year Jan 2010.

Hepatitis patients are increasing and being infected daily but yet Balochistan Health department was immobile latent in providing safety injections as a result This is another time that 15 hundred Hepatitis Safety Injections are being expired” sources informed me.

When I contacted medical superintendent in this regard, and for providing anti-Hepatitis (Safety) injections to the children before it were expired, he replied that we cannot inject people without Director General’s written order. When I asked, if the injections went expired before it were approved to inject, he said we are not responsible to save the people, we are bound to DG’s order. Director General Health will be responsible in this regard, an official of the Health department said.

When I tried to contact Amanullah Khan Director General Health Department of Balochistan at 11 O Clock dated 28 January 2010, his personnel Assistant told that he is yet to reach office, when I call backed after ten minutes the PA told that Saab is in meeting, all over the day he was not contacted in short, as Saab was in meeting and PA didn’t transfer the phone call. Later on I investigated that he was absent from the duty.

After all it was decided to contact Secretary Health Muhammad Jalal Mandokhel, but officials told that Jalal Mandokhel has left for Islamabad and he was on leave for two days.

in the meantime, frequent cases of Malaria and typhoid and other epidemic diseases in the inner districts and Tehsils including Khuzdar, Surab, Basima, Nag, Panjgur, Hoshab, Hub are 70% rapidly spreading according to (AHSAS) organization, but there no preventive measures are taken by the Provincial Government practically.

“The health department has totally been failed to impede the worsening situation of the children” the masses added.

While billions of funds are being expended in different health projects. Balochistan’s largest Hospital Bolan Medical Complex (BMC) has been receiving two billions per month, but when we contacted the administration authorities, they said we do not get any monthly fund for the hospital. It was investigated in the survey that 60% percent of the Doctors are routinely absent in district hospitals and they are easily found in their private clinic. Many patients are told to visit at their clinic in the Bolan Medical Complex.

The Vandalism environment of Health sector has to be brought into the mainstream by the federal government, because Health is the first priority of a common or important person. If there was no health then there is nothing to aim in life.

Besides The Health Care reform has badly damaged so far in all over Balochistan, but the authorities are out of journalists reach because of “Saab in Meeting”, we don’t know when would Saab come out of meeting and resolve public issues.
